The 58 Stevens St , together with the neighbouring Knutsford Precinct, is a cutting edge housing project that will begin the rejuventation of Fremantle’s traditional industrial heart land into an exciting, sustainable community.  Four unique homes are to be built on the site with common secured access for both cars and separate pedestrian access.

The development has also been awarded the Sustainable Architectural Award and the Multiple Residential Award in the WA Chapter of Australian Institute of Architects 2012 Award

Three two-storey homes and a single-storey home will be created to maximise environmental performance, achieving an impressive seven greenstar rating.

The exciting modern architecture by local Fremantle architects Officer Woods is a re-interpretation of the local factories and warehouses, and will provide modern urban living and luxurious home comfort whilst minimising environmental impact. The project combines premium architectural design with next generation construction products and features dual plumbing, light towers, grey water system and rain water tanks.  Each house will have an operational 1KW PV solar energy system installed.

The project will utilise high quality recycled products throughout , including timber, bricks and limestone salvaged from the site. 90% of all waste generated through the construction process will be recycled and diverted from landfill.  With current industry practice at around 20%, this represents a significant improvement on business as usual.
